I have no fucking clue. I mean its gonna be at least a couple weeks or more before anything is even close to ready, if we actually do do this. And the logistics need to be figured out of where ts going to take place...whether itll be a live, webcams tabletop like experience or...... I mean in my head, playing it through the forum seemed like a good idea, what with time zone differences and stuff, but part of the excitement of tabletop gaming (as I understand it, since ive only ever participated in one game myself, YEARS ago) is the immediacy, The planning and quick decision making.
I always have spurts of ideas, but idk how id be when it comes to creating an entire world...and i dont know how detailed it needs to be to be serviceable and provide realism. But then again if you take too much time on one area, another probably suffers. |
Watched some tutorials on Roll20 last night. Some of it seems a little over my head. Like I said- it might not even happen, but its worth brainstorming. Right now Im just working on the opening "scene" as it were (even if its probably sort of an RPG cliche). But im deciding how much side into to build into that map, any secret stuff, any branching maps or anything....I just dont know how that stuff even fits in with the systems as they stand.
And theres so much stuff to take into account; What is the climate? What do they eat? What kind of economic system is in place? What is the political landscape like? Is anyone at war? How diverse is this land? Are there different racial/species groups in close proximity to one another? How are their relations? Is there a god or pantheon of gods that locals worship? How does that effect everyday life? Is this a low fantasy setting? High fantasy? If the latter, how to certain people react to magic/magicians/technology......?
Just SO much stuff.
So we'll see.
