This is our style of narcotic (PCA) infusion pump: https://alfa.saddleback.edu/data/patient-controlled-analgesia Ours are a lot newer and have beefier covers over the pump like this http://i.imgur.com/H65OuIY.jpg They have an alarm that goes off if it is tampered with, like if someone tries to suck out the solution through the IV line past the pump. They use RFID to unlock, so no picking the lock like the old days.
Standard IV infusion bags are locked up thusly: http://shop.gohcl.com/customer/hecalo/images/items/zoom/17958_XL.JPG but they're pretty much for covering our ass for non-narcotics like chemo, it's easy to defeat as you can see. -
