tactical common senses are useless with idiots in charge.

its not how you fire that win wars. its the one who commands your fire that does.

i doubt people in the future would be unable to compare between apples and oranges.

not only that but they've been trying it in bursts multiple times a week, with the sheer volume of drones that've been used it's impossible to defend against all of them. from the video I've seen they used a swarm of them this time around

Given the economic situation and the human capital remaining available to them the Ukrainians will be doing well if they can even afford to feed and wipe the asses of all the cripples Zelensky has created.

And some Ukrainians think if they win Ukraine will be prosperous - it doesn't matter. Ukraine will collapse when the war is over.

They will probably push that off till after the US election in November.

When I was on a carrier the US had just started using drones. The iranians had been training for small-boat Swarm attacks.

The only weapons our ship had were 20mm vulcans and a few seasparrow missiles which would have been overwhelmed by the tactics the iranians trained for. (.50 bmg doesn't count...their range is useless)

I brought it up to every 'important' officer who would listen, using ww2 ships literally covered in 30mm, 40mm, 50mm, and larger guns as examples. They said the carriers aircraft would take out any swarms boats before they made it to the carrier.

Bullshit. Until navy's equip surface ships with at LEAST 30mm guns in every square inch of available deck space drones are going to win.

part of my job was 'informing' officers of shit. and im not talking 'JOs'...im talking one-stars, captains (the equivalent to colonel) and a two-star who at least pretended to care.

speaking of which, i had two 'majors' (they were called that to be derogatory towards their idiocy...their actual rank was 'lt commander') who were know it alls. most everyone hated them and did whatever they could to fuck them over. one of them i was in a massive verbal argument...shouting match... in front of everyone...and ultimately won...then another who was utterly incompetent who kept stealing credit for other people work who was finally 'fired' and given a job with zero supervision.

i didnt have it bad...ive seen a lot of shit-tier 'rates' who had it much, much, much infinitely worse.

on one of my deployments my assigned sleeping area was the nicest non-high-rank-officer living space on the carrier. it was in a deep area of the ship away from all machinery and traffic...meaning literally as quiet as possible to be on a ship, it was always dark, the 'heads' were ALWAYS empty...i never saw anyone in them, everyone else in the sleeping area was 'quality' as in they kept everything clean, tidy, and in good shape, it smelled good/clean (not like other sleep spaces where they smelled like grease, oil, stagnant piss or shit, or unwashed dirty ass), and it had the nicest mattresses, lights, water/showers, TV/VCRs, and furniture

i was basically my own supervisor and while i, for the most part, made my own working hours, i still had shit to do so there were countless times i literally didnt leave my work space for more than a week and slept in a bunk room...or if that was occupied, literally under or on a desk. a commander let me (ordered me) to use his office one time for a nights sleep of two hours after a debate of why i couldnt return to my quarters to sleep.
