you have never done it properly but I won't hold that against you as it's a lost art and not many people truly understand it
the key to pineapple on pizza is first you must soak the pineapple in a brine to balance out the sweet. If you just use canned pineapple and plop it on top of a pete it will be mushy and taste off
but if you soak it in brine it becomes cooked pineapple like almost like another meat with a carmalized flavor from the salt and proteins in the pineapple being COOKED instead of sitting in can water juice and just soaking and steaming in the oven
the salt sucks out the water and dehydrates it just enough that it cooks much better, this is very important. -

What kind of sauce do you like? I like barbeque sauce a lot, my brother doesn't like it, neither does his wife but my friend does. We always get pizzas with barbecue sauce now instead of the garlic sauce they give you by default.
