Hope’s home is at the innermost point in us, and in all things. It is a quality of life. It does not come at the end, as the feeling that results from a happy outcome. Rather, it lies at the beginning, as a pulse of truth that sends us forth. When our innermost being is attuned to this pulse it will send us forth in hope, regardless of the physical circumstances of our lives.
Hope fills us with the strength to stay present, to abide in the flow of the Mercy no matter what outer storms assail us. It is entered always and only through surrender; that is, through the willingness to let go of everything we are presently clinging to. And yet when we enter it, it enters us and fills us with its own life—a quiet strength beyond anything we have ever known.

Therein lies the paradox of hoping to die sooner rather than later.

Nah but really though, if hope is just this inherent thing that we all have whether we recognize it or not, it seems that it doesn't really mean much of anything, at least in that sense that you wouldn't say to someone, well hey, hang on to your hope, friend. It's that hope that will get you through the day and on to better things.
Like, yeah, I literally can't not hang on to my hope if it's just built into all of us. I can't not hope.
Is there a point in telling someone, well buddy, just keep on blinking. It's those blinks that keep your eyes watered and intact so that you can see what's ahead of you.

True
Perhaps trust is a better option.

Perchance, perchance.
I SEENT these sweatshirts that say on the back "hey you, behind me, just know that you are loved and you are an amazing person who matters" and other similar things.
You see those comments now and then on YouTube or wherever random threads and such.
It always makes me laugh thinking about the person behind them being a violent child rapist who was about to kill themselves out of guilt, but they read that and decide to stay alive and ramp up their raping to an even higher level.

It seems we are addicted to our need to make distinctions and judgments, which we mistake for thinking. Most of us think we are our thinking, yet almost all thinking is compulsive, repetitive, and habitual. We are forever writing our inner commentaries on everything, commentaries that always reach the same practiced conclusions.

Today, there seems to be a breach in almost every wall.
The “cosmic egg” that seemed to hold us together for a long time is now broken.
We now find ourselves engaged in culture wars on almost every personal and social issue.
Most of us are beyond being shocked by anything. We are often sad, discouraged, even alienated from the only world we live in.

The first foundation of any true religion is, quite simply, learning how to see and love what is. Contemplation is meeting reality in its most simple and direct form unjudged, unexplained, and uncontrolled!

So I lay my tobacco on the water’s surface and whisper, “You’re not forgotten.” I listen to the ancestors and to the created world that longs to tell its own stories. I whisper a prayer to Kche Mnedo, to Mamogosnan, Creator, who never forgets, who knows the language of every tribe…. If we listen, the land is speaking. If we listen, we are doing the active work of paying attention, not only to our own lives but also to history telling its own story again and again.

People of real faith seem able to hold increasing amounts of chaos in one tranquil and ordered life. Faith seems to make people spacious, non-controlling, and waiting in awareness.

The Spirit has been poured into our hearts at the moment of our creation. We are already children of God. The water is bubbling up within us but we often don’t dare believe it.

The movement of grace toward gratitude brings us from the package of self-obsessed madness to a spiritual awakening.
Gratitude is peace.

I wish more people liked me but I am glad more people don't like me.
Like it seems the peopel who are well liked are most often taken advantage of or take advantage of others.
Not sure I want either of those positions to be mine.
