The real question we should be asking is why do people have such extreme differing views of what the best thing for people is? Why do people in America have issues that people in Europe don't? Why do they feel differently about the Israel-Gaza war? If there are differences of opinion there is something stupid involved.

Crazy how the Weimar constitution was the most democratic at the time, maybe still is today, and while the UK isn't entirely a democracy we're still safer.

The left/right dichotomy is largely a holdover from enlightenment era France - Locke, Rousseau, Voltaire, etc - and on thru the revolutionary era then permeated thru most of western society via colonialism.
In the French National Assembly the “new age” thinkers sat on the left side of the chamber, and the supporters of the monarchy on the right

That’s why I don’t vote more than 50% of americans read below a 6th grade level according to recent studies, they dont even know they’re basically just filling a seating arrangement that was determined hundreds of years ago in a French palace… because they dont know how to read. you can basically pull a child out of school, give him a pack of cigs a bucket of fried chicken and a drivers license and thats a voter.
