True, but the glock 20 somehow mitigates the recoil so much that it just feels like a hot loaded 9mm, very controllable
That combined with the weak-ass sorry excuse for factory 10mm bullets we have now and it shouldn't be too much of a problem -

10mm is still to hot for a noob,especially that particular one, no matter what.
I don't know anything about recoil. anything between normal-loaded 9mm through .454 feels the same to me. .380 and smaller feels like nothing...a normal .500SW after about 20 rounds or 12ga with no stock and pistol grip is where I start feeling it.
edit: also, .40SW (10mm faggot) is a shit round in glock. the chambers in glocks are cheap shit and cause problems for fired rounds. hot rounds can cause issues, some safety, some reliability, and even normal pressure rounds make reloading such a chore as to be not worthwile. it kills the brass life.

Anyway I was operating on the assumption that OP wouldn't be handloading or buying the hot stuff
OP, if you're going to shoot anything even halfway powerful enough to deserve the 10mm name, you'll need a fully supported aftermarket barrel if you go with a glock 20. So don't, unless you're going to start making your own bullets -

right now its the 'best' home defense weapon for my individual 'tastes.' im working on something else, but its still a work in progress.
maybe he wont be handloading, but .40 is still crap. if someone cant handle the power of a 10mm, use a 9mm. dont pussyfoot around with a .40SW (10mm faggot) with dubious positive traits in comparison to a 9mm. for .40SW there are reloads available at gunshows or from other sources that may not have been properly QC'd and could wind up blowing up inside a clock with their unsupported chambers. that is never a good thing. last i checked there were no OEM glock barrels with fully supported barrels...and the aftermarket ones arent cheap. That was one of the selling points of the USP45 I bought. It spits out .45-super with no problem and the brass doesnt have the 'smileys' that weaken it and get it stuck in the dies.
