Just let me work. -
2017-05-26 at 6:27 PM UTCThe quote of him about anti-depressants is proof alone. Are you retarded?
He has read about it... LOL. -

Originally posted by Lanny Again, I don't think it's so. You can tell the difference between an amature and expert pianist even if you don't play or only play a little. I think the generative activity of producing expert opinions and the receptive activity of appraising them don't require a symmetric level of familiarity with a field.
I didn't say anything about it requiring a symmetric similarity with the field. I don't think that's necessary at all.
The simple fact is that if you let him determine his own question and don't know shit about the field, I don't see how you would ever, ever be able to claim or even believe that it proves anything one way or the other, the best you can do is "I don't know sounds legit" pretty much.
I don't know shit about playing the piano. But if you ask me to prove I'm a piano master by talking about music theory, I could bullshit something out of my asshole that might look to a layman like an expert fucking article, just by the power of bullshit, and not by an expertise in music theory.
Instead of letting him determine his own subject to talk about, go find some random academic paper in his field, pull the thesis statement out of it and turn it into a question, then ask him to talk about it. That would be like a billion times better as proof than asking him "just talk about something bro". -

Medicinal marijuana has multiple uses that are far superior to alternatives, at least for certain conditions. It genuinely holds great promise.
The same is true for psychedelics. Of course governments have absolutely crippled research for decades, since the period where they generally became illegal around the globe, led by the US war on drugs.
I strongly disagree with your views if you consider them worthy of being called "shit".
No offense, but the vast majority of psychiatrists (of course psychologists will tend to be far worse (no offense)) tend to have a wildly inaccurate view of the efficacy of the drugs they prescribe, proper procedure for diagnosing and treating patients, and understanding of neurology and pharmacology. There are multiple reasons for this, immense flaws in the education system, problems inherent to the field, the complexity and level of knowledge. Just look at the size of the DSM-V, there are reasons why people specialize.
Do you believe SSRIs are generally effective treatments for depression? -

Originally posted by RestStop Yeah I agree with the medical marijuana thing. I'm going to sound like an old man here but mostly it's a very convenient excuse to smoke pot legally and have the plug be your doctor/a cannabis dispensary. All the people thinking it's going to be some magical weed utopia are dead wrong too. I've seen the prices people pay for this shit and for what they're paying for a 2-3 grams is what I could cop an entire ounce of the same exact strain for and any criminal worth his salt would be able to as well.
I'm not hating on the plant itself I think as far as illegal drugs go it is probably the most benign and harmless "drug" there is but people take it a step too far and act as if taking three water bong rips before work is the same thing as taking as a multi vitamin and it's not. Common logic will tell you inhaling anything that harsh that is that rough on your throat and lungs clearly isn't doing any favors for your health.
That's absolutely true, the medical marijuana industry, the process to receive a prescription, generally is a complete joke and is simply a form of quasi-legalization.
But that doesn't mean that there aren't people who legitimately use it for medicinal purposes. They're only a small fraction, but they absolutely do exist, they just don't tend to be as vocal about their use.
Also, here in SF prices and quality at dispensaries are fucking great. Way better than way you get on the street. It really varies by state and the region you're in. -

Absolutely true. I spread my interests too wide and didn't have a good grip on, realize the importance of, human limitations.
Then there was the whole mental breakdown and severe depression which made my reading levels go to shit for about 3 years. And I'm still in that state. At some point I largely stopped caring.
I've said before, people literally spend over a decade in school (although it is incredibly inefficient) to master certain subjects, become professionals in that field.
I don't know what the fuck I would want to study if I ever did decide to attend university. I've never been a monomaniac.
The same is true for you, though. I've never seen you post anything that gave the appearance of a high level of knowledge or formal training outside of philosophy and computer science. Human beings are tiny. -

Definitely. Even in philosophy I just took random interesting sounding classes until they gave me a degree one day and the occasional book or paper after that, nothing close to a systematic study of the field. And to be clear I didn't mean it as criticism, you can acquire a really impressive level of knowledge as an autodidact, it's just qualitatively different from broad systematic study. -

You claim to be younger than 29 and be a practicing Psychologist who has a social worker who does your paper work yet you have to do surprise drug tests. Cute.
A professianal Psychologist wouldn't ask niggasin.space what to do to help his struggling neighbor kid. Don't be silly.
Your story is full of holes and cluttered with lies. Stop fronting.
I honestly don't give a fuck what you think. My story isn't changing, and whether or not you believe me is entirely irrelevant.
Also, I don't recall ever saying both of my parents are dead and that I'm happy with it. I also didn't say I taught myself English entirely on my own, although I did largely. Furthermore, I don't like giving people my age, so expect whatever number you hear to be different. I've already given various answers to that question. I am around your age though, if you really care for some homosex reason.
And yeah, social workers fill out paperwork at their offices when they're dealing with a kid. That's not fucking abnormal. And, shocker, maybe I just wanted to make a thread about the kid to get it out of my head and help me think it through? Maybe I don't actually trust NIS for parenting advice?
You are so fucking dense. Go OD already. Next time you get that random urge on a sunny day to kill yourself, don't hold back. -

It is, it needs to be structured properly as opposed to the naturally scattered style I've developed where I can pull connections from a wide range of sources, from my autistic memory trait, different cognitive styles. This mode of thought can be very useful for certain applications, but I need to train the exact opposite, go through the logical progression and really develop that systematic understanding that's meant to be the outcome of a formal education.
Fortunately I would have absolutely no problem grasping these concepts, at all, in multiple fields and would already be familiar with much of the knowledge, even to a very high level for many of my interests. It's essentially what I wrote above and filling in the gaps in my knowledge.
Basically just doing the reading, which should be no problem when Nardil fully kicks in (already seeing an interesting progression, may be getting close to the threshold effect level where there's a rapid dramatic change), I can at least read abnormally fast (Poster I remember has a similar ability where he can read at 3 times the normal speed, also autistic, and brilliant, but as a cost he suffers from epilepsy and other issues) and memorize quickly, with very good long term memory, particularly with all the bullshit classes you have to take.
Along with any coursework, which would be a good exercise to practice formal a formal writing style, develop discipline.
Damn, that reminds me of a major reason why I was never planning to and did not want to go to university to waste another 4 years. The sheer number of bullshit classes and countless other problems.
Hmm...I need money first. Money is important. More. -

What an absolutely unsatisfying answer. As expected, anyone who thinks you are a professional Psychologist is completely retarded, haha.
Tell me, where do you practice? What's the environment like?
You have read about the effects of antidepreassants, isn't it normal for a Psychologist to work with medicated people on the regular? Never had a single client who was on antidepressants? No contact to Neurologists or anything? Pretty weird...
Tell me where do you practice?
