It's been years since I crunched on and slurped down a spicy pickled onion.

Back in the late 80s early 90s there was a small British Pub on Las Vegas Blvd between Sahara and Freemont St. It was owned by two English twin brothers who had moved to the states in the early 90s.

Most of their condiments and such were things not common to the US much like some of the things you've described.

Their menu, according to them, was typical English pub fare and it was one of the very few "bars" in Las Vegas where they didn't have gambling of any type. This led to more social interaction on the part of the clientele.

You spoke of pickled onion which is what flipped the memory. One of my favorite things to order there was what they called the p
Ploughman's Lunch. It came with a couple of thick slices of hands A couple of small fresh baked loaves, Some mince I think they called it, A big pickled onion, And 4 or 5 wedges of different sharp kinds of cheeses. Along with A couple soup of the day.
The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!

Oh yeah, any decent country pub back in England does a ploughman's lunch...goes down great with a pint or two of real ale.

Used to love me some pickled onions, I'd kind of forgot about them till I saw them on the list...if these are good I can see me stocking up a few jars of it next time to serve with thick crusty bread and cheese. They had the plain ones too but I got the hot and spicy ones.

  20. I'm surprised no one took the homoerotic "bears up in my back yard" bait.
