And hope the enemy don't also have nvgs/thermal scopes or claymores with motion detectors set up.
I can't imagine something scarier than trying to infiltrate enemy positions at night.
Most infantry prefer to huddle in a trench and fire their mortars. -

its a dual use, for offense and defence. -
