I knew a guy who worked at Bob Evans as a shitty line cook making $13 an hour whose mom died unexpectedly, and Bob Evans corporate actually catered the entire funeral for free and helped him cover other costs. He had been an employee for 7 years but still, most places I've worked like that when younger don't give two shits about you or your problems
