   You're also not just paid for the loss of life but for the amount of money one makes. so a Dr would get more in a lawsuit than say a person who works at 7-11 or the owner would get more than his employee with 0 investment in the store. Because the family can argue they're lifestyle is used to that kind of income over that of someone who makes minimum wage.
