    The earliest of The word dak on &totse in the earlier 90s was a joke based on the Danish product which is a European form of Spam. So dakking was spamming.

    Daktologist logistics (or whatever it was called) website no longer works.
    But the term itself may have something to do with biology? Also a "HAM radio" a user by the name of dakiologist was his hobby. HAM SPAM DAK? Maybe an inside joke

    I think it could have been user ToiletDuk(which was an old blue colored toilet cleaner on every flush) or his friend who came up with it. Dak and Duk look th same.

    The irc network probably existed first. But I think several user names were made as well.

    They brought him back for Discovery, which takes place in the same era roughly. I haven't finished watching it because its shit.

    However, Pike is also in Strange New Worlds (along with Spock and Kirk + his brother) and it is very good. Feels like old trek again, and not just an action sci-fi. The TOS episode you're talking about is very relevant to the overarching story.
