I didn't have a PS2 back in the day, but my friend did and I played *a bit* of it. It's always stuck out in my mind as one of those games that made me regret not having the console. See also: Dark Cloud.
Was wild to me when I learned FromSoft were the people responsible, and that they'll probably never make another one because fucking Soulsborne Ringkiro is too profitable a template. -

I’m a little worried that open world BotW exploration has some fundamental design conflicts with the soulsborne formula, like the fact that you can horse out of any overworld battle that’s not going your way feels kinda contrary to the level design of prior games and a bit like cheating but for the most part it works pretty well.
I appreciate the more generous parry window. It now feels like something worth actually attempting with my old man reaction times now. -

I've probably still got almost all of them except the psx ones
they were teasing a PC game for a while but I don't think it went anywhere. closest thing I could find was DAEMON X MACHINA but it's more shonen anime than grimdark if the story matters to you -

As for the game... scrawny doesn't "get it" but he can at least appreciate the visuals and stuff. It is a pretty game. It's also a pretty fun game. Although I'm considering restarting because I went ham on exploration and locked myself out of an early quest that gives you a seed and idk it's just awkward having skipped a bunch o' content. -
