2020-11-18 at 4:14 PM UTCStatistics should never change. Once something is determined, it should stay that way forever, even after new information is obtained. That's why the Green Bay Packers are undefeated and the only team to ever win the Superbowl.

Nobody said Pfizer is trustworthy you illiterate ape.
I simply explained to you why the information has been updated. Moderna's vaccine trial data treatment was further along. Pfizer got to that point a week later.
Moderna's trial data essentially already shows it is 100% effective. However the error bars on the data made 94.5% a safe conservative figure. So in a week or two they could raise their figure to 98% for the same reason (further data and treatment of the data) and you would sperg out about the same shit. Then Pfizer would update their own data to like 98.5% for the same reason and you would say the same shit.
I MEAN THEY STARTED WITH 0% EFFECTIVE VACCINES AND NOW ITS 95% WTF??? LIARS????
The real reason for it isn't that Pfizer is lying to beat their competition, it is that you are borderline mentally handicapped and don't know shit about how the process works. -
2020-11-18 at 4:28 PM UTC0% to 95% wtf that's an infinity times increase wtf

Yeah you're either incredible slow or not to bright (same thing?).
My original statement alluded to the fact "How convenient that their % was UPDATED to 95% in light of the other guys announcing 94.5%).
Your response seemed to imply that that update would have happened anyway...my OBVIOUS implication is that maybe it wouldn't have...
Keep believing big Pharma dumbo. -
2020-11-18 at 7:15 PM UTCI’ll be glad when this vaccine is widely available. Our governor set a 10:00pm to 5am curfew, except for necessities. Then today, my mayor and public health official set a “stay at home advisory” starting Friday, and going for 28 days. Since it’s only an advisory, I’m sure no one will listen in my “red” state.
Of course I hate this shit, but something has to be done. Our medical systems are about to crumble. I feel bad for people who need regular, but emergent care, they’re not getting it in some places. I get it, most of ya don’t care that we’ve lost 1/4 million people, but will you care when you or a family member needs emergent care and it is delayed or unavailable? I feel awful for our medical community🥺 -
2020-11-18 at 7:22 PM UTCWhere are you at Tech?
-
2020-11-18 at 7:26 PM UTCOutside of Columbus. The Columbus mayor made the order. We’re lucky that we have large medical systems here, but our rural areas are getting hammered and shipping folks here.
I haven’t been out “mingling” anyway, so it’s not a huge deal to me. I’m sort of a homebody. -
2020-11-18 at 8:06 PM UTCI'm originally from Pickerington, Reynoldsburg, Pataskala areas and used to work downtown in the Riffe Bldg. I miss Ohio a lot but refuse to do the winters there anymore. My niece is a nurse with Mount Caramel (at least I think she's still there) I know licking county lacks medical facilities and probably getting hit badly by covid so I imagine the larger hospitals in Cols. is receiving a lot of patients. My sisters in Granville and all my nieces in licking county and around Cols. area

Shut the fuck up moron. My original statement alluded to the fact "How convenient that their % was UPDATED to 95% in light of the other guys announcing 94.5%).
And my original statement was yes how convenient, how convenient that they UPDATED their data upon reaching a similar milestone as the guys who are a week ahead, a week after they did.
How fucking convenient that that is how the passage of time works, and it's pretty fucking convenient that you get more and better treated data so the error bars become smaller and you can make more confident statements about the data.
Extremely convenient things that are normal and happen for easily understandable and benign reasons that are not a mystery.Your response seemed to imply that that update would have happened anyway…my OBVIOUS implication is that maybe it wouldn't have…
Yeah that's because you are borderline illíterate and don't know shit.
It was always going to happen. Their 90% figure was never meant as a final number, it was just a lower bound. Always was the case, as evidenced in the literal fucking press release:
https://www.pfizer.com/news/press-release/press-release-detail/pfizer-and-biontech-announce-vaccine-candidate-against
Vaccine candidate was found to be more than 90% effective in preventing COVID-19 in participants without evidence of prior SARS-CoV-2 infection in the first interim efficacy analysisKeep believing big Pharma dumbo.
