    For something to be tested in the long-term it must first be tested in the short-term and remain in a state of TESTEDNESS. So, regardless if long-term studies haven't yet been completed, the testing is still taking place.

    I'm not quite sure what amount of time the scientific community uses as their mark for when they decide to say "long-term studies have been able to show..."
