I'm not quite sure what amount of time the scientific community uses as their mark for when they decide to say "long-term studies have been able to show..."The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

It certainly has to depend on the thing being studied and the particular field of science. I dont know why I thought there might just be some arbitrary number that they used across the board for everything.
