Even when shit is totally not my fault, I always look back and it and think "what could I have done to have avoided this?". It always weirds people out. "Oh but rabbitweed, it's not your fault!" Yeah I know it's my fault but it still fucking happened to me and I had to live with the consequences. -

Yeah Im the same way. My life is pretty objectively shit, but pretty much all of it was a result of my action/inaction. For instance i got a fix it ticket on my ex gfs car in 2008. I couldnt bring it to the sherrifs dept to show itd been fixed bc we broke up. I just “assumed” itd go awaybc theyd realize it wasnt my car. Long story short, I got a failure to appear for court, they sent it to collections, the collections agency turned 3 tail light tickets into $8000 worth of debt. I couldnt payand got my license suspended. Still drove around without a license and insurance, having to have my cars in friends names. Ended up getting pulled over for headlight 8 years later and got a ticket for suspended license, finally had to goto court and clear everything up.
If at any point id justbeen responsible and made the effort to go to court andexplain, it likely wouldve gone away.
Thats why when i hear people talking about having to commit crime bc theyre in the ghetto and institutionalized, i roll my eyes. Its uncomfortable to only have yourself to blame for your fuckups, but some people enjoy being a victim. -

We're hardworking compared to natives, but compared to first generation asian immigrants we are 100% being left in the dust. Soft white parents with low standards producing lazy, under achieving what adults. I recognise this in myself 100%, I still have to constantly fight it, every day, probably until I die.
I used whatever bootstraps were available to me. The important thing is I did it.
But you're right, I should just accept the people in this forum (and around me...) will never fucking do anything. I'm literally a bleeding-heart reactionary. -
