Stick welding is pretty cheap, pretty versatile, and is an easy entry point. No gas or anything to worry about besides the welder, some sticks (which are consumed), and some protection (proper welding gloves, a face shield, and some jeans).
Protip: Welding is not healthy. Do be careful of the fumes. They don't do the life expectancy of welders any favours.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

electric arc gives off dangerous uv rays and a variety of radioactive smokes.
blowtorches dont do that.
i stick welded a few hours shirtless once and got the sunburned equivalent to a full day at the beach. -

They are better for things like welding thin steel or pipes.
They also don't risk tripping the circuit breakers. -

2020-05-15 at 12:23 PM UTCI did a tig/mig welding course at my college, but 2 months in i decided to sat in on the glassblowing classinstead and then i just decided to smoke heroin in the bathroom and play SOCOM on my PSP

well had you picked gas welding you wouldnt have to switch class to do glass blowing.
did you blew anything else besides glass tho ? -

You can sit in on any class you want to, you just dont get credit. and obv they dont give you materials unless youve paid the materials fees but it was still cool to see. -
