This virus might be going to jump-start inflation. Too much money sloshing around with no where to spend it means prices will increase. Which is great.
And the trend of jamming more and more people into smaller and smaller spaces has been shown to be unsustainable as well.

I talked about this today with a Chinese banker. He was trying to get me to invest and said "yeah I think inflation will go from 2 to 2.5% YoY" and I told him why it will be much more due to almost full employment being off work, the stimulus packages and the housing sell off that will happen after and he agreed with me and stopped trying to get me to invest at the low ass prime rate lul

It's going to be no worse than when people get their tax returns, which is not at all.
Most of this money will not be used to buy food etc so much as it will be used to balance the books on rent, bill and debt payments. The purpose of this stimulus isn't really extra money, it is to prevent the economic crisis from also turning into a fiscal crisis.
The fact is that no actual economic capacity has gone away. It's just that the economy is like a shark and stays alive by staying in motion, and the flow has stopped in many areas. So they need to be helped to stay alive and that's what this helps.
