Yeah a projected increase of +10 degrees within a hundred years when that kind of change usually takes 10 million years is totally normal. The climate changes all the time right

Was that projected by the same people who have been projecting wrong for my entire life?

You realize when they say “we have X amount of years until it’s irreversible” they don’t mean once X years has passed that all of a sudden the world will just explode and we all die instantly.

The effects take time to manifest. Since you’re well into your sixties already you’ll unfortunately be long dead by the time shit really hits the fan, so you won’t be able to see how wrong you were.

We are already starting to see the effects of climate change within our lifetime. There are quantifiable differences in weather patterns today than 50 years ago, that were predicted

Well then it is way too late. They projected in the 80's it would be irreversible unless we did whatever we didn't do then with in a period of time that has long come and gone.

Yeah and that projected threshold was just passed within the last few years. It’s gonna take at least another 50-100 years before the rain forests turn into deserts and massive crop failures lead to mass starvation.

No, the threshold they set in the 80's came and went in the 90's pal.

remember about the peak oil and how they said by now global oil supply will almost run out ?

turns out new oil reserves are being discovered everyday amd the only thing that stands between us and an abundance of cheap oil are protestors.

The poles receive less sunlight than lower latitudes. The sun barely ever gets more than a few degrees above the horizon. As well as that they have 6 month long nights, during which it will be cold, no matter how much the planet warms. Extreme polar areas are just about useless for agriculture

Problem is I could speculate some game changing technology arrives and reverses the irreversible. Which has happened every single time in the past when humanity has faced such crisis.

You don't know shit until it happens. Stop pretending you do. All we can do now is prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Best way to do this is to power our electric tractors from nuclear power plants.

    Get to work!

While I don’t disagree with you necessarily, when has humanity ever faced a global crisis? Other than like war and shit
