The Truth requires a kind of extrasensory perception. No, I don't mean you need to be psychic. What I'm saying is you can't see it, smell it, touch it, hear it, or taste it - it can only be experienced directly by way of their indirect aid. The Senses are vital to generate the Keys, the Context, the Landmarks, the things that let you navigate to and unlock and understand truth, but they cannot arrive at it themselves. It must be sensed cognitively, not physically. Cognition, or perhaps predictive ability, is a sense... in a sense.

2023-07-02 at 7:27 PM UTC in No student loan forgiveness for you.I got a copy of the Adobe Master Collection CS6 (the last permanently licensed editions of Adobe software to be released) out of it too, as part of my tuition. And at the time the cost of that collection was like 70% of the cost of the tuition (I think tuition was 3 or 4 grand? And the collection was like 2 or 3 grand). Which was a big reason I chose that course - even if I dropped out, the money wouldn't just evaporate.
I may not have received much in the way of education there, but I did get legal rights to life-long commercial use of photoshop and premiere out of it. So that's pretty neat.

Education should be costly and the domain of singular individuals. The optimal number of school systems, school districts, etc in the world is actually 0. If your parents are not wealthy enough to have you properly tutored at their estate by a learned scholar, then ignorance should be your blessed lot in life. That should be it for you vis-a-vis general education. The fact that this is no longer the case is one of the root causes of social instability in our culture - every man a petty noble, but someone still needs to clean the toilets and pick fruit.
Specific education can remain to some degree - religious institutions need to teach religion, charm school needs to exist so the young ladies of high society are not thrown to the wolves at their debut, but you do not need to know how to read or write and you especially don't need to learn that "for free" (ie "paid for by someone else via government, using taxes collected under threat of violence").
Also, remember: if you aren't paying for something, you're the product. Free public education sounds lovely in theory when you ignore this reality, but the fact is "school" as it exists only does so because it once helped keep the masses in line. Public schools are just government indoctrination camps by another name. And they always has been - I'm not talking about "woke" here, "woke" is just a parasite that has managed to flourish in and hijack institutions whose raison d'être was already indoctrination. They teach you to read so you can read their propaganda. They teach you math so all the people they kill can become a statistic in your eyes and little more. SLAVE.
And if you're seething reading this, just imagine: I wouldn't have been able to write it if the government hadn't taught me to. I wouldn't be able to read twitter. I'd probably be, like, digging a hole somewhere or planting crops in that world. I'd probably be happy, and unbothered. And so would you.

If a crack in the view port were letting in a narrow little piss stream of water, that piss stream would have been a deadly laser. Really high pressure environment. Pressure (if it equalized in a split second) would equalize to 5000 PSI, which would have exerted tremendous forces on the materials the sub was constructed from. One can't be uncreated, so we can only either continue forever or cease to be. Unless you're suicidal, both are uniquely hellish prospects. You can try to paper this over in a lot of ways, but fundamentally the only solutions to this reality I can think of are "make peace with it" or "be very confident in your ability to remain sane over geological, cosmological timescales, and more importantly, do so without that confidence having been misplaced".
