Under-barrel grenade launchers are actually probably the weird one. Also they just use high power blanks and the grenade gets lobbed from the gas pressure, no shooting bullets into primers or anything whacky like that. The appeal being it's simpler. It's literally just a tube on the end of the gun, and when you want to fire a grenade you load a different cartridge. -

I could go to school, but school means being around people and having to keep to a schedule. Same with employment. Responsibilities. I don't handle those well. Plus, I'm 30 now. A bit late. I'd say I'm like Malice in a lot of ways. Whatever's wrong with me, I've always been a bit "off". It's shaped my entire life irrevocably in much the same way (and to much the same ends) as Malice's diagnosed autism shaped his. Never had friends, never liked school, worked a handful of jobs but never for more than a month or two (usually considerably less than that). I'd be considered a tragic figure by most. I don't see myself as one though, particularly, so I'm probably not going to board the bus. A different outcome ultimately, but much the same otherwise. Either a tragic figure, or terminally lazy depending on how charitable the observer is.
I slipped through the cracks of a society that functions perfectly well without me, and that's fine. I may have even squeezed myself through a few of those cracks. If there was ever a place for me in society I don't know what it was. If there's something other than what I'm doing that I was meant to do, it eludes me. As for what that is - what I'm "doing"? I'm a disability mooching NEET. If I could master the secret art of the semicolon I might be able to get work writing for people who need things written, but alas... -

I'm not trying to use it at the moment, it's just that the crushing weight of not using it for 30 years is driving me a bit insane. It's an important tool of the English language, a key component of good grammatical construction, and I have completely failed time and again to internalize its proper usage. I sincerely feel like I've been spiritually blinded to its function; like if I ever come close to comprehending its usage some fucking demon plucks the knowledge from my head. -

I've gone through 30 years of life relying on hyphens, awkwardly placed periods, and overusing commas to compensate for this crippling deficiency of mine. About twice a year I say to myself "No. Fuck this, we're using a semicolon this time." and then I spend the next two days second-guessing myself. What the fuck are semicolons? Whose idea was that? And how the FUCK am I supposed to be using them? I've probably looked this up like 10 times and I still don't really know. Maybe I'll just never know. Maybe this is just arcane knowledge that is fated to always be beyond my ken. I don't know. I don't know how to use semicolons. Fuck.

No traditional scientific mechanism for a "timeline shift" exists, so why would you expect our traditional understanding of consciousness as a purely mechanical/chemical construct to apply? This can only be explained with ludicrous fringe pseudoscience in the first place, so who's to say how consciousness *truly* works. Maybe human consciousness is partly a function of some abstract subset of quantum mechanics and so our consciousness doesn't abide these rules. If we're going to accept timeline shifts what's to stop us from accepting some crazy nonsense like "our observation collapses the existing quantum state into a different timeline so we don't change, just the reality we observe does"?
Or, an even simpler explanation, the timeline shifts around one's physical body for whatever arbitrary fringe reason. Who knows? -

The national security justifications for inserting people into this particular community have more or less evaporated. This forum is just the tip of a decades-spanning iceberg. This community has been around for over 2 decades, and it has been an absolute menace at times. -

Maybe some obscure totse user from 2003 went on to murder 5 people and the users just never heard about it. Who knows? Not me, certainly.

This community has very publicly been of interest to the US Secret Service, FBI, ATF, and DEA at times. This community was at various points a hotbed for the proliferation of IEDs, an open air drug market, and the nexus for a counterfeiting ring. And that is just scratching the surface - the most high-profile stuff that literally everyone knows about. On the individual level there have been countless people who posed cybersecurity threats, made credible threats to politicians, etc. It's not all been sunshine and kids shoving their mom over a cup of Starbucks coffee. -

The threat assessment for this community has changed significantly over the past 5 years and many of the user disappearances/"deaths" can be attributed to this. Most of the supposed deaths have simply been a cover for the exfiltration of assets whose presence here could no longer be justified. You might not believe me but there was a point in time when around a quarter of the active users here were only present in an official capacity. Not NIS specifically, of course, but at one point in the totse/zoklet/intosanc/rdfrn/nis lineage, over the decades. With under 50 active/semi-active users in the community now, almost none of whom pose a threat of any kind (let alone a serious threat to national security, as once may have been the case) it's simply more sensible for resources to be allocated elsewhere and individuals of interest to be monitored by more targeted and traditional means. -
