Not exactly. They just realized they could use noble and virtuous pretexts as a successful vehicle for their true intentions. They learned to mimic civil rights heroes, in order to to cleverly push their backwards philosophies onto people at the same time. Psychopaths do the same thing. Since they are incapable of producing true emotions themselves, and end up on the losing end because they can't, they learn to almost perfectly mimic those who do have the capability to produce emotions.
