If your potential is unlimited, it can't be wasted. You can only waste something if there is a shortage of whatever it is. Let's say you had a tetra-zillion-gazzillion dollars. Would flushing a thousand hundred dollar bills down the toilet be wasteful? To someone else, yes. To you, no. So you can't really say you are wasting your potential, it's really that you are wasting someone else's benefit of your potential. Your potential is yours, and no one can take that away from you.

On Zoklet, the Fun Bunch had briefly discussed an entire Shadow BBS, where zok would code a fake BBS, which looked exactly like the real one, full of doppleganger bots of real users - user bots that make random posts and replies, to make the exiled member believe they were actually on the real site.
