    Absolutely, the shitposters of today are an unusually vulgar and persistent virus in comparison to the more meaningful contributions of yesterday's trolls. They used to be hard and poignant; now they are more like weeds: liberally sewn and impossible to totally uproot. The two you mentioned I consider to be the prime offenders. These are unusual times to browse in, I'm afraid.

    PERRIS, Calif. - Authorities said they discovered 13 victims were kept shackled to beds and in deplorable conditions inside a Southern California home after a teenager escaped and called 911.

    The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said a 17-year-old girl grabbed a cellphone from inside the home in Perris, California and fled Sunday morning.

    The teen told officials that her 12 brothers and sisters were being held captive inside the home by her parents and were bound with chains and padlocks.

    When deputies arrived at the scene, they said they found 12 victims, ranging in age from 2 to 29, shackled to their beds in the dark and foul-smelling home.

    The victims were malnourished and very dirty, according to officials. All 13 victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.

    Deputies said 57-year old David Allen Turpin and 49-year old Louise Anna Turpin, identified as the parents of the victim, were arrested for torture and child endangerment. Their bail was set at $9 million each.
