Is that we'll have learned absolutely nothing from it.
Through lockdowns and border restrictions many parts of the world discovered:
- you don't need mass migration to keep economies running - a hell of a lot of people don't need to commute to an office - tourism degrades our quality of life - strong, decisive leadership managed to all but stamp out the virus in a few parts of the world. (I wonder what other problems could be solved this way...)
Sadly, absolutely fuck all will be learned from this disaster. People will be back commuting to work to sit on the fucking internet, shit-tier human beings will be imported en masse to do menial work, everywhere nice will be full of gross chinese people with cameras.
This was a major opportunity for Mankind to re-examine all these stupid myths we live under, and we fucked it up.

2. China is fucking weird, they keep coming out with announcements about new military tech and doctrine and half of it ends up being completely made up. They talked about having those hypersonic glide vehicles years ago but haven't actually demonstrated their own hypersonic missile designs yet (the glide vehicles are a lot more complex than that).
I dunno, from what I can glean they don't seem to care too much about the latest nuclear weapons tech so long as they have them as a deterrent - which is a sensible position (at least to the extent that the weapons remain an effective deterrent, ie. they aren't rendered obselete by new anti-missile tech), considering the moment someone uses a nuclear weapon now the MAD doctrine is over and the hard line between conventional and nuclear conflict dissolves
