All you can do is track where the coins go, the information that can be inferred by that can tell you where the currency was purchased, most darknet market wallets are public so for example a person on localbitcoins.com could see you sending coin to a DNM but that can be avoided by just getting bitcoin anonymously. There are many ways to get it, you just have to be smart.
You aren't smart enough to use bitcoin anonymously, that doesn't make it bad.
instead of wasting so much effort (and money) anonymizing a non-anonymous crypto, why not take netstat's advice?
