Hope you're having a good day.
My hourly rate has gone up so looking forward to the next payment from my client. Might be working more hours too, which I am not really looking forward to but adding more money to the money pile is always good. Having enough cash on hand so you can live for 6-12 months without doing jack shit is great, I thoroughly recommend it.
This is day 3 of no video games, not gonna lie I really want to log in to minecraft and help build the base, but I am staying strong. I'm also blocking youtube during certain periods of the day, but I still binge watch stuff after 11pm. I should find something good to read instead. The one coffee a day is going well, but I was up early today for a meeting so will let myself have two.
Getting mexican for lunch, and I think I'll have a couple of beers tonight.
How are you guys? -

One moment he's a wealthy currency speculator who enjoys only the finer things in life, the next minute he's a drug addict in a bargain basement flat in the ghetto.
Maybe they correspond to his highs and come downs. When he starts he thinks he's the shit, and then when he comes down he realises what a failure he is. -

There's some validity in that. I domain blocked reddit on my computers, just because I kept using that as a central hub and it was fully MORALLY SUPERIOR BEINGed.
But at the same time, decentralising doesn't need the majority of internet users. A small fraction of users using decentralized stuff is still a lot more people that were online at all back in 1997 when totse became a forum.
We don't have to win a popularity contest, just be a viable alternative. -

Even consuming stuff that isn't big tech helps out IMHO. Watch some stuff on peertube. Visit forums like these which are self-hosted. Communities will thrive with participants. -

It's never been easier to make your own website, or even host videos, than it has right now in 2020. Yet people moan about big tech sites - while still using them.
Look at what Lanny did. He could have made this just another subreddit and been Anti Defamation Leagued, but instead not only did he host a forum, he wrote his own software.
