Hitchhiking across the country isnt for the weak-willed. Having a bisexual experience at the end of it, isnt either. It's a tale only few can tell and it's far more interesting than some fat slob who sits at their computer their whole life criticizing something like that while they gorge on cheese and watch price is right reruns all day.

Also interesting is candy "attempting" to insult §m£ÂgØL for getting a D in his B one time when shes a self admitted bisexual. Things that make you go hmmmm.

I'm think I'm gonna go get F'd in the A today just so I can say I've done it too.

But me,I've never been legit homeless. A little bit of couch surfing for a week or two at a time back in the day is about it, and sleeping under a parking ramp stairwell one night was the only night I ever didnt sleep inside of a house/apt/hotel except for going camping of course.

I like the stories about people traveling abroad, roaming the land and living for really really cheap. I might end up doing that in the relatively near future.

    Ben?
  3. Methadone isn't free either. Without insurance it's 300-800 a month.
  4. also lol @ citing medical research a quarter of a century old.

"Kary Mullis, who won the Nobel Prize in Science for inventing the PCR, is thoroughly convinced that HIV is not the cause of "AIDS". With regard to the viral load tests, which attempt to use PCR for counting viruses, Mullis has stated: "Quantitative PCR is an oxymoron." PCR is intended to identify substances qualitatively, but by its very nature is unsuited for estimating numbers. Although there is a common misimpression that the viral load tests actually count the number of viruses in the blood, these tests cannot detect free, infectious viruses at all; they can only detect proteins that are believed, in some cases wrongly, to be unique to HIV. The tests can detect genetic sequences of viruses, but not viruses themselves.
What PCR does is to select a genetic sequence and then amplify it enormously. It can accomplish the equivalent of finding a needle in a haystack; it can amplify that needle into a haystack. Like an electronically amplified antenna, PCR greatly amplifies the signal, but it also greatly amplifies the noise. Since the amplification is exponential, the slightest error in measurement, the slightest contamination, can result in errors of many orders of magnitude.
To make an analogy: using the viral load tests to gauge viral activity would be like finding a few fingernail clippings; amplifying the fingernail clippings into a small mountain of fingernail clippings mixed in with other junk; and then having an "expert" come along and interpret the pile as representing a platoon of soldiers, fully armed and ready for battle.

In short, the viral load tests are a scam. When molecular biologists Peter Duesberg and Harvey Bialy analyzed the 1995 Ho and Wei papers (Nature 373) that launched the whole viral load bandwagon, they found that estimates of free virus had been overestimated by several orders of magnitude. In the Wei study, 100,000 so-called "plasma viral RNA" units really amounted to less than 2 infectious viruses per milliliter of plasma. And in the Ho study, 10,000 "plasma virions" corresponded to less than one infectious virus. Duesberg and Bialy concluded, "there is no evidence for infectious virus in Wei et al.'s and Ho et al.'s patients." (Duesberg 1996a)
When Australian mathematician Mark Craddock analyzed the same reports by Ho and Wei, he found gross errors in mathematics and logic…"

Go ahead. Post the source for that.

No, you're just retarded and think everything is a conspiracy. I'll stick to believing in science, thanks.

  14. Originally posted by gadzooks I lived out of a Dodge Caravan for the better part of a year.

    It was quite something.

I parked at a rest area for an entire month at one point.

My crazy/unusal stories mostly have to do with some of the people I met along the way.

One time I was chased out of a neighbourhood because a neighbourhood watch type guy thought I was up to no good.

Another time, I woke up to a hooker opening my car door at 6 am to rifle through my shit. I had an issue with the locks so I couldn't always lock the doors at night.

There was also a time when an elderly South Asian man propositioned me inside my storage locker where I kept all my shit. He pulled down the door and then slid his hand up my shirt.

I also had a few memorable exchanges with the popo, but they were actually generally pretty cool about things.

Apparantly, at least in Canada, there are no laws against pulling over and sleeping in your car on the side of the road.

Even when it's not illegal here the cops will give you shit for it because they THINK it's illegal. I have a friend who was sleeping in his car at Walmart, which specifically allows people to park their cars/sleep in them on their property overnight. He got an (overturned) DUI and some possession/paraphernalia charges. A lot of people will sleep in just Walmart parking lots when traveling because they're everywhere and they know they're always allowed to chill there, but cops are fucking stupid and try arresting people there anyway.

I know I've been hitchhiking where it's legal (was off the interstate, hitchhiking specifically where a state sheriff told me to if I didn't want to get arrested) and been told straight up to 'Get out of my town or I'll arrest you" and then was followed as I walked 2 hours out of this small town to the next small town, where I got a ride from a nice cop hitchhiking on that same exact road.

Would be nice if cops knew the law or at least common knowledge

Yeah but there's a difference between being homeless and having a home and choosing not to live in it because you want to travel.

I can't think of any reason that graph would exist other than to deceive people who don't take the time to actually read it. What possible other fucking reason would there be to end it almost a century ago.
