I'd be interested to hear from anyone who cares more about economics on that

That's the policy all across the Anglosphere really.

And tech (which is just mass produced shit at the end of the day) is quite affordable - everyone can afford a phone and smart watch, but very few can afford a house or even an appartment.

Muslims are pretty lazy and laid back in my experience. And these countries try not to piss off tourists, who are economically useful. I doubt they'd care about some white dude smoking weed.

Waking up dead would solve most of my problems. I wonder how much a second hand exit bag costs.

Water powered cars are a good conspiracy.

Like electric cars used to be, before lithium batteries became cheap and Tesla came along.

Pretty sure "who killed the electric car" is still on YouTube.

Its harder and riskier (incomplete writes, etc) to perform maintenance if your DB is getting written to.

typically they'll just log changes to a database, there doesn't need to be someone there for you to be able to log in and see if it's been updated in that database yet.

Big databases are more complicated, they need to be reindexed, cached queries updated, and checks made to ensure consistency. Also drives swapped out if needed. Google Apache Hadoop if interested.

There are also backup jobs that need to be run, and they take a while. The backups are often encrypted, which adds even more time. Sqldumps or netbackup or both.

There are also map reduce big data type operations that can be run as well.
