2019-07-17 at 6:51 PM UTC in The Retarded Thread: Malice Metro EditionJust buy now nitrile or latex gloves, they are like $1 for 5000000, I am kind of a germaphobe. Like I don't act like a bitch about it, but I have a very strong standard of personal hygiene. I wash my hands after touching doorknobs, even my own doorknobs.
So scooping cat litter is anathema to me. Cleaning my own house, touching filthy surfaces and dusty shit is strongly unpleasant to me. I can override it, but it sucks.
But latex and nitrile gloves make everything easy. You don't have to touch anything directly, you can get 2 layers of waterproof protection (latex first, then nitrile) for the grossest stuff, or just use one to scoop the litter. You don't even need to touch the litter or the box, one is enough to overcome the disgust mechanism. -

Retarded take. Everything is natural. The reason why we have the concept of unnatural/synthetic/man-made is because it is a product of the specific subcategory of natural phenomenon known as a human. Unnatural vs natural is to distinguish stuff creates by man vs not created by man. You could do the same to any other creature but it's just not useful to us, there's nothing wrong with it. -

Who knew that was even possible?

Originally posted by Jiggaboo_Johnson I don't see any difference when I change the IPD thing…it is variable from 58 to 72. Don't know what mine is so I've tried all acroos the range and honestly don't see any difference…so it's either subtle as fuck or a worthless feature.
It's just a matter of proper orientation, it's not really a "feature" in that it enhances anything.
You want your eyes to be looking straight ahead through the lens at the screen when in a neutral position rather than pointing inwards (or even worse trying to point outwards if you have low IPD).
Since my IOD is greater than that of my headset, mine have to point inwards, and the outer extent of my FOV is slightly distroted or cut off. So the left part of my left eye FOV will be fucked. Also I will see more negative space towards the right of my left eye FOV. And vice versa for my right eye.
I mean it's not the end of the world but it can sometimes affect the immersion because you're reminded you're looking at a screen a lot more easily when it's fucked up. -

Originally posted by Jiggaboo_Johnson The new Rift S doesn't use beacons either, uses cams in the headset and works great, no problems so far. Only 1 cable too, (split at the end to 1 USB3 and 1 display port)
I believe that one has more of its own IR light sources, so the tracking is better.
For me it's 100% fine when the ceiling light is on. The reason I got and like the Explorer is because A) it was cheap as fuck and B) it has the 1440p resolution and inside-out tracking like this that newer headsets are only just receiving now.
The downside is that my interpupillary distance is 70mm whereas the ipd of the headset is locked to 65. There is a virtual adjustment possible but the physical lenses don't move so it's bullshit. -
2019-07-17 at 3:07 PM UTC in Anyone into VR??I got the Lenovo Explorer for $250 on sale because it doesn't require any beacons for head tracking. Instead it uses the camera to track the room, but the trade-off is it is less accurate in low light so you need good lighting. However, that's a complete non problem for me, I just turn off the fan lights when I'm using it. The visual quality is pretty good and the controllers are nice. The best game is Beat Saber IMO.
I'm pretty psyched for Tetris Effect too, I've heard it's good on PSVR. -

2019-07-17 at 1:34 PM UTC in Should I drown myself in Lake Michigan tomorrow?Swim out to the middle of the lake and slash your wrists.
Technically Lake Michigan is small enough that your 4l of blood and rotting corpse juices should be above Avogadro's limit.
So everyone in Chicago will be drinking and bathing in a little bit of Fatt for a while. -

2019-07-17 at 11:44 AM UTC in What do you think is beyond the universe?Nothing. I believe reality is 3 dimensions of space and 1 dimension of time. I think multiverse are just this universe at different sections on the time axis. This especially makes sense to me after understanding the Arrow Of Time problem and the probable answer. There's nothing "outside" our 3 dimensions of time and space that exists in any meaningful sense of existence to us.
