I actually don't mind it; I use it mostly for straightforward web-based tools. it's flexible, relatively light, easy to deploy and hard to fuck up

What do you do for a living, Aldra? If I can ask.

    Are you a hobbyist?
  2. EasyDoesIt Tuskegee Airman
You can go lower. There's always lower…

Who is that in your picture?
  3. EasyDoesIt Tuskegee Airman
yeah, that's part of the problem though - you'd first need to get python libs on there, which are fairly big. I tried similar when I was working for a telco - I was trying to get tcpdump on a 3G modem/router to be able to troubleshoot something or other, so downloaded/compiled an ARM build, found I needed dependencies, ran out of space trying to satisfy them, and eventually came to realise the kernel was cut down too far to be able to handle it anyway. also that the only place I could've put it was NVRAM so it disappeared when the device was rebooted.

I suspect for something like that you'd need to take apart the firmware, update the kernel and add your software to the package so when it boots it's all decompiled and loaded into memory but it really is a lot of effort.

I'm not being facetious or sarcastic when I say I'd be interested to see you do it. it's just very complicated and I wouldn't be able to apply myself to such an involved project

I would actually be willing to volunteer if one of you guys wanted to do a website project or something. I have all my network hardware here to set up my "pimped" network and the next few days off so I'd be willing to read nonstop about shit in order to work on this. Hell, I even have a raspbery pi B+ i'd donate to the project.

Also, I'll upload pictures of my network and make a thread about it sometime in the next few days.

    You said I'm a knowledgeable poster :D

Yes, you can be. I specifically remember you writing stuff that I even occasionally thanked.I think this happened most frequently on RDFRN when you were confined to the drug forum (where, honestly, you belong). My impression is that whenever your shitposting is confined to a certain enclosed space, you get bored with it and occasionally create things worth reading. It's almost as if doing things of purpose is a secondary exercise you take up out of boredom, hence the reason I tell you to stop destroying your brain with drugs so you can use it to do something valuable. You're basically using a brand new Macbook as a doorstop. And that's fine - it's your Macbook, but you don't get a new one.

I don't actually hate you (or Dissociator or most people, for that matter). I just have a low tolerance for bullshit, which seems to comprise a lot of your posts on lots of topics. You have to remember my initial educational pathway was decided based on what I felt best emulated the classical tradition of European university professors, a low tolerance for bullshit has been my all around milieu for over a decade at this point. When you feel like not being a shit-for-brains sometimes interesting stuff comes out upon opening your bundy hole.

IJ was the same way. Granted he was basically a functioning autistic person who couldn't see past his own closed-minded antisemitism, but his knowledge about early Christian theology and history is clearly impeccable. I try not to throw out the baby with the bathwater, but that doesn't mean I'm always vocal about it.

Water Bottle and that dude who had Omega as his avatar on Zoklet was really cool too. I forget his name but I know Panthrax didn't like him and he was an adjunct at Columbia University.

My my goal that surrounds this question, would be to set-up a router that has the same SSID as another nearby router and wait for the owner to accidentally attempt to log into it, thus giving me the password. Is this possible?

That's a pretty clever idea. I'm kind of impressed at how sneaky this is.

generally speaking the hardware itself has very little NVRAM and even less non-volatile memory, most of both being filled with firmware, bootstraps and other shit like that. even if it is possible for the hardware itself to log those requests, there'd be very little space to log to.

This is true. However, if there's a will there's a way. You could easily write something in python that emails the results to some email or something so you don't have to rely on the router's storage.

I am pretty dissapointed that my initial experience with the internet was hampered with the advent of myspace. It was still way less corporate owned and dominated but now it seems like the internet is doing way more harm than good on a lot of fronts. I have seen it said that we need to consider this thing we call the world wide web as a veritable library of alexandria at our fingertips; Sadly people have turned it into a means to inflate egotism and rather than communicate with others they alienate themselves by congregating at those terrible hugbox echochambers that expose no one to that which they find disagreeable.

Yeah but we have the DeepWeb now.

There will always be one thing or another that separates us from them.

    Sophie come to TC.

Also don't become a priest that's gay as fuck.

I remember when I first started using the internet how cool it was. Not every dickbag and their mom was on it making facebooks for their rescued pitbulls and sharing pictures of what they ate for dinner.

  9. EasyDoesIt Tuskegee Airman
Yeah I'm glad you're back hamp.
  10. EasyDoesIt Tuskegee Airman
My butt only hurts because your posts about your encounters with women gave me ass cancer.

Which is an interesting coincidence as Bill Krozby's encounters with women also gave them ass cancer.

Truth is, I just like to play along with you guys, but I'm actually a very knowledgeable, crafty, devious, evil villain. More crazy and dangerous than you could ever imagine. I'm clever, relentless, formidable, resourceful and wise. I can do things which others can't. I let you post here because I like most of you. So while you chuckle and grin, keep that in mind. It's always a two-way street, you know? But so far, you're doing just fine.

Glad to be of service to you, Spectral.
  12. EasyDoesIt Tuskegee Airman
It's not even related to some 20 year old forum bullshit. I guess…

Most of -Spectal's posts are funny, not that he intends them to be.
  13. EasyDoesIt Tuskegee Airman
Stop being so rump rammed silly pants

He gets like that when he's mad.
  14. EasyDoesIt Tuskegee Airman
    Nor you, me, old friend.

Was spectral the old crackhead you almost let fuck you in drag?

    lol this explains everything.
  15. EasyDoesIt Tuskegee Airman
^ ^^Wtf is this nerd shit lol

lol it's a running gag from tinychat.

Huh, interesting. The ISP router's I've always had were shitty enough to not have this and I was pretty bamboozled when I saw this kinda thing on an OpenWRT router. Niggas4learning.

If you have any serious concerns about privacy NETSEC, you should never use an ISP router. Not only that, it ends up more expensive in the long run.

ISP routers don't often have security logs in them because these functions reveal how frequently ISPs scan ports and stuff. ISPs also consider the routers "their property" that you're "renting" so they can legally mine it for data and theoretically access it whenever they want. Don't get me wrong, it's not like the network engineers are sitting around poking through peoples' data for the lulz (very often), but this hardware is intentionally vulnerable because it's designed to allow technicians at your ISP to troubleshoot in real time.

Yes, I am catholic, I was baptized at a catholic church growing up.

That's not what being catholic is.

Not to preach here, but being a christian is an active commitment. I know lots of people identify as Catholics that are pretty bad people, but that doesn't make them Catholic. You live a life that pretty clearly shows you don't have that active commitment.

Look at it this way, at what point should I not be considered a Raider's fan? I don't watch any games, don't go to any games, don't know most of the players, and don't even know a whole lot about the sport anymore. I could call myself Raider's fan, but there's a point where it's disingenuous on my part.

what about intosanc? Whats your opinion on that? Better/worae than rdfrn?
it was hella better than this shithole but everyone had to give arnox shit and get him to shut our sanctuary down

Honestly I felt like RDFRN was way better. It was pretty well modded, problem posters were confined to certain forums, Idio had really realistic expectations about the site, there were some great posters that I never see anymore (Hewfil or whatever, MmQ, Idio was a decent poster, Obbe, Sophie, NSA, Bill Krozby, Sploo Mayberrry, Lanny, Fang, IJ actually posted really knowledgeable stuff when he wasn't being an anti-Semitic dbag, that Russian hacker dude was cool before he destroyed the website, etc), people were beginning to produce actually content, there were interesting threads on the reg (the foreign one about carding and buying a Lamborghini, the Opsec threads, the college thread), it had a chat feature, and the admins actually listened whenever we asked for stuff.

I watched intosanc for a long time and honestly it never had a great userbase or content. Arnox also failed to understand the userbase he was trying to basically assert himself as an authority over. Granted my original point was to say that the userbase is largely to blame as to why we don't have a home anymore, but Arnox basically completely blames us and makes it out like every admin we've ever had is a great messiah to some great cause. He fronted like he believed in free speech, yet meanwhile he's shocked and appalled over the fact that some people had unpopular things to say.

Basically if RDFRN came back we might have a chance, idio was great, and people who complained about him are typically the types that are never satisfied. As far as intosanct, I would honestly rather post here than intosanct because Lanny isn't an autistic Mormon dweeb with the need to morally grandstand the very group of people he ostensibly is helping.

Smash is barely violent. Also captain falcon is objectively more sane than your half baked ravenclaw ass.

Nigga ain't no one gonna put up with your Hufflepuff shit.

Hufflepuff is the special education class of Hogwarts. While we were learning how to use wands, your class was going over how to use silverware properly. Judging by the general amount of refuse and feces splattered across your room, my guess is that you got held back a grade.

I don't think anybody here can post on this site and seriously argue that they're any form of real christian.
