Look ...
We start a wiki site with totse in the name and the entire theme being around TOTSE, then later there will be another section to the site or a secondary site that will be the forum.
For starts this will just be a wiki. -

Read my OP carefully.
I never had any intention of putting energy into this place, I was in fact alluding to creating an actual TOTSE revival site along with the wiki. -

2019-03-10 at 8:13 PM UTC in The TOTSE wikiWell seeing as the website that once was &TOTSE is now no more, and it looks like there is a growing interest in reviving the site then I suggest someone take the initiative and use the money to host a wiki that can become the new replacement for the old TOTSE text file archive.
This wiki could be an archive for knowledge of any and all forms, a place where autists and scholars can jot down their thoughts and findings.
I know this idea sounds cheesy and dumb on the very surface but if given the proper love and care it could blossom into something very special.
It wouldn't just be about how to build explosives out of materials you can buy at the dollar store or 101 ways to hypnotize your sister into having sex with you, there could be actual educational stuff and eventually the wiki could be comprised of everything, any subject you could be interested in you can learn on the wiki.
It would go on to be the one and ultimate wiki of the web. -

Motherfucker I'm gonna buy this.
This will be my main linux machine and portable device.
I'll use it even to learn programming and ARM/mobile architecture.
This thing is so fucking cool and this is the future of computing.
Forget AR and VR, those two are important but they're media devices, you still need something concrete to use for your multi-task computing needs and mobile devices are that.
Just think in five years you could have a mobile computer with the processing capabilities of a mid to high range pc of today, with that kind of processing power you'll have enough for any of your needs.
As for the issues with heat, I'm sure they'll figure that out.

I personally could use it as a primary IF it were running a standard linux kernel - Android (even moreso ios) is far too opaque; anyone concerned with security in any sense should not trust it.
Yeah I don't want anything resembling a smartphone.
What I want is the device alone.
Why the fuck hasn't anyone tried to capitalize on the pocket computer idea.
Take something like an Android smartphone but without the cellular antenna and camera.
You would use this as your personal private computer you can take everywhere and you could hook it up to a monitor and have an actual desktop experience.
As for gaming fuck the kids these days I would be absolutely fine with Deus ex or half life 2 tier graphics.
This seems like such an awesome idea but it'll be eclipsed by mobile ar and VR. -
2019-03-10 at 4:41 AM UTC in Smartphones as actual computersDo you think you could use a smartphone as your one and only computing device?
Me personally I absolutely need the desktop interface since I do a lot of file sorting and UI intensive work.
I mostly have hated smartphones and only use them as mobile web browsers.
Once I learn to program and how to work with hardware I might use a smartphone as a controller and multitool.
Are there any pocket computers without the phone service and without a camera. -

2019-03-07 at 10:20 PM UTC in hacker attack or something else?I will add that the Netherlands ip tried accessing my nas when it was connected.
None of the phones have received attempted communication with outside ips. -
2019-03-07 at 10:17 PM UTC in hacker attack or something else?I keep getting these notifications often, and a lot of the time it's from some ip in the Netherlands.
One ip from the US was logged then three minutes later the modem logged another ip from peurto rico.
I don't have my nas connected ATM thankfully and last night my laptop was on airplane mode.
What could these ips be related to?
