The passing car's hood was bent in half and pointed straight up in a teepee position. The entire front third of the passing car had disappeared, mashed right in all the way up to the windshield base. When the cars had come to a stop, I pushed the unconscious driver off myself as best I could, he was still breathing, then kicked the passenger's door open and noticed blood pouring out of one of the knuckles on my right hand, which had struck a handle on the door during impact. Shaking the unconscious driver produced no results. I walked over to the other vehicle and peered in. A lone elderly man in his late '60's was sitting at the wheel, leaning back on the headrest, with his face full of blood, with a broken nose and teeth, and the bloody glass in front of him over the steering wheel was caved in like a big spiderweb. I shook the man several times, but he was out like a light and merely gurgled. He was breathing. Steam poured and shot out from from the passing car's radiator in giant clouds up into the night. With no communication device available, I finally decided my only option was to continue my journey and attempt to flag a passing vehicle. After several hours of walking, I was finally able to flag a passing policeman and explain the collision, who then headed directly to the scene. I myself disappeared into the dawn.

based on the markings on the scope it's a leupold which is 'good' to 'very good' tier optics. I can't tell the magnification but it looks like a close-ish (less than about 300 yds) scope…and definitely daylight-only because of that tiny 'front part of the scope.'

It's likely Amazon never intended to open an HQ in NY anyway; their original goal was to make states compete for the 'privilege' of having it, and ended up accepting offers from two states, the other being Virginia I think. A large part of the 'bidding war' wasn't even for the incentives, but to force states who wanted to participate to give up planning data - it's possible they never intended to set up shop in NY but wanted as much data as they could get on their competitors and/or the market there.
and people have problems when china subsidize their tech industries.
