Afghanistan has a long history of tribal conflict and fighting foreign powers. Iirc the current borders of Afghanistan include areas not conquered by the Mongols. It's definitely been overtaken many times but they've always had to keep a large occupying force, some empires even moving their capitals to Afghanistan so they can keep better watch on the ppl. Afghanistan is so ancient its had alot of people come through and conquer it but there have been an insane number of transitions of power.
No occupying force has really lasted along time and most importantly, have failed to exert political and cultural influence over the afghan people. The sassanids, Mongols, mughals, Georgians, Indians and a billion other ethnic groups may have managed to take Herat and/or Khandahar and set up some institutions, but as soon as they leave, they get burned to the ground and forgotten about. They blew up some big beautiful Buddha statues out of spite and have almost always fallen back on their tribal and native culture, even after generations of rule and assimilation. There are like 200 languages and 700 ethnic groups in Afghanistan thanks to all the foreign occupiers who aspired to sow seeds loyal to them and their way of life. Instead they just got more Afghans that kinda looked like them but acted like afghans.
Britain, Russia and India have all claimed to own elements of Afghanistan for periods but were left with nothing, and most importantly, no evidence of them being there. How many man made things in your city existed in the 80s? Statues, infrastructure, etc. In Afghanistan, there's basically nothing. They've got a ton of American military shit and infrastructure they spent billions on just to make itnlook like they've got something. It'll be ran into the ground in a few years and another force will try to take out the Taliban and it's back to square one.

There have been a bunch of jailb8 looking girls checking me out around my area. These two just double checked and waved at me. Feels pretty noncey I guess this is how you flex on wariat. Yesterday two probable 16 year olds were coming in and out of the gas station 3 times when me and my friend were in there and one was obviously trying to force an interaction with me. It took every ounce of my gen pop prison influenced psyche not to reciproc8.
Meanwhile a couple older girls I've been talking to are kinda qri5ing me off as an unstable toxic weirdo which is a badge I wear proudly. I think my best plan is to drink more so my behavior is more excusable and to heed James ellroys dad's deathbed advice to his son "try to pick up every waitress who serves you"
This is not about waitresses or women, just about opportunism and allowing yourelself to be open to what path life allows you to travel down. I should pray more too, and I've got a couple ideas for making l00t. I need good people around me. I realized last week that some people in my life have a complacent and stagnant mentality that's holding me back and co signing some negative behaviors on my part. My friend is out of prism now and full of good energy. His grandmother said "Jeesus loves you" to me u unironically and it was so sweet.

I was gonna make a thread about this and about whether or not he deserves to be stabbed in the eye and suffer immensely. You've just got to watch him on Bill Mahar once to know any act of violence perpetrated on him is likely justified.
He's also a shitty writer. The part of the Satanic verses he kinda spoofs was rife with content and possibilities and he went in a hacky predictable direction with it. Kudos to him for having the balls to poke a bear but he didn't do it in a particularly clever way or a way that promoted discussion. Kinda Charlie Hebdo of him but I'd rank him higher in the "get what you deserve" line than them.
He was on curb your enthusiasm and Larry David gave him good lines to say. You can tell he's a huge self righteous jackass but the fatwah gave his shitty writing more legitimacy than he deserved and he's really not qualified to speak on anything.
Not sure if he "deserved" it (although I think I said he did earlier) but it's kinda karmatic justice in some ways. Glad he didn't die because making a martyr out of him would have tickled the J00s too much
