Oh damn this thread is making me sad. Still haven’t had a chance to ask my son about his coaches, although I’d like to think he’d tell me. I was usually one of the team “Moms” and had many dealings with the coaches.
I remember how I explained to him to tell me if anyone was inappropriate with him. His visit to the pediatrician around age 3. She checked his penis, at that exact time I told him no one is to touch his privates for any reason except his doctor or myself. The pediatrician chimed in and explained that people might threaten him if he told anyone, but she told him he could tell her. We reinforced this a couple more times.

I heard that the Cardinal over that arch diocese was involved in the cover up. The only person that can get rid of that cardinal is the Pope, I really thought he’d at least step up and do that. I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic schools. Never heard of any weird goings on, but you don’t hear about it, especially back in my day. I still have my faith, but organized religion is really giving me second thoughts.
