The first few books of the old testament describe God's personality, character and explain why humans look and function the way we do.
He's a living being that is too complex and great for us to understand. Humans are made in the image of God which is why we are the most superior lifeform in the universe. God is magnitudes greater than we could ever imagine so I doubt he resembles anything we could even describe in words.
The man in robes with a white beard is the classic 'God' but I imagine his true form is closer to a humanoid star. -
