   To a reflux apparatus add 100 mL of dry toluene and 47 g of anhydrous aluminum trichloride, with vigorous stirring, add 25 mL of propionyl chloride, after the addition, heat the mixture under reflux for 2h. After the reflux, the mixture is poured into 100 g of ice with 30 mL of conc.     I think the PPX is in freebase form in the cottons and they soak it in hydrochloric acid or something, I can't remember but yeah it's just made from OTC benzedrex inhalers.
    
    It's interesting how PPX is made, i'm pretty sure the industrial method is to make meth and convert it to propylhexedrine in one step with Adams catalyst, also known as platinum dioxide.
