You have a point, Archer. It doesn't surprise me at all, it's nothing new. Still, it is horrific, but aldra is right. Part of this outrage is because he was a journalist and worked with the 'distinguished' Washington Post. I'm not sure but he is also a USA citizen? I thought I read smth regarding that on twitter, but I could be wrong.

The hypocrisy of the West is disgusting. All chief executives of big banks and other organisations have pulled out from this big business event in Riyadh. Sir Richard Branson, has halted talks ("halted", mind you) over a $1bn Saudi investment in Virgin space firms. As if what happened now is anything new for Saudi Arabia. A bunch of hypocrites, all of them. They are just concerned about their reputation, that's all. Last but not least, Saudi Arabia is also in the UN Commission on Human Rights. They even chaired that commission a couple of years ago. -

To clarify my position, I am not saying this or that is true or not. I do not know the whole "truth". But my point is that one should consider all the informations available, sources etc. enhancement them and form an opinion (which doesn't necessarily mean is correct anyway), rather than giving credit to a particular source, only cause it suits our own preconcived ideas on a matter. -
