Seeing the look on someone's face when they are facing their own mortality (expecially someone you love) and knowing you really can not give them a 100% you will be fine reassurance is hard.
I was worried last night about this but I had no idea it was going to be this difficult today.

Personally when I faced my own mortality I was lay on the hospital bed thinking "ah no more work or worry...just sleep"..then the fuckers saved me and threw me back into the cold hard light of unfeeling reality as if to say "The universe isn't done fucking with you yet...You'll go when WE say"

Why do we enjoy arguing...
Most insecure people like to feel they are on top of and better than others.
They argue their subjective points to send the message "I'm smarter than you and I'm going to prove it!". It's all very childish and as I said, insecure...there is always someone stronger/smarter/better than you out there...and being stronger/smarter/better doesn't actually mean shit as far as what you do with your own life goes.

Hard to put a finger on it...but it's been noted independently by several. I noted it, and others who I'm not going to throw their names out noted it...and then obviously Matt noted it as he made the suggestion. This isn't an attack simply an observation and the fact multiple people observed the same thing...suggests it's a thing.
You keep asking why we care is an assumption we care..and a clear defensive response...pointing something observed out doesn't indicate a deep level of caring no more than pointing out a pink blackbird does.
