   What's wrong with shaking it? Is it just that the yeast gets re-suspended and takes longer to settle/enhancement out -- and that the yeast gives it a skunky taste? Is there another reason I'm missing?

   it's not like that. A decent pen that writes well makes me feel calm inside. rather than going for the bottle of whiskey, I might want to sit down with my notebook and write down some ideas. i'm a very frugal person

   I wouldn't spend more than 40 bucks on a pen, pencil, knife that I can't test out. The one I had was just plated, but it was quite old and you could tell it was hand crafted. There are great writing utensils out there for just a few hundred that equal or outperform those opulant ones. I mostly use a pen. It is also important to consider the ink, nib, and even paper that you will be using. I like a rough, almost raw paper and a high flow, bold nib.
