I think the best projects are the ones based around the hardware of the actual machine. I have an NES for development purposes but I didn't grow up in that time. I grew up with the N64 as my first real console and I played almost every game for it. It's a good machine that can do some cool things. It gets a lot of flak but I think it has some of the best games.
My favorite is Paper Mario which I would really like to see reverse engineered. You can do some really cool things with the tools available but there are limitations because you don't have access to the code. I think this game has a lot more potential for mods because it's an RPG with a simplistic design and a lot of depth. The only reason there hasn't been any interest in full scale hacks of the game is because of how difficult it is.

This is pretty much every job. They have a million requirements but when you actually ask what the fuck are you supposed to be doing they only tell you after you sign all the papers and go through orientation.
I keep quitting jobs because I ask them a million times what am I gonna be doing what am i gonna do hey what are the details about the work I will be doing and they just tell me that information comes later.
And then I have to stand there while they figure out what i'm supposed to be doing. Like when I got hired at Sears they just "threw me into the lion cage" as my boss said and I just had to figure it out.
I don't understand what's so difficult about listing the duties of the job on the job posting. This abstract bullshit is annoying, confusing, misleading and stupid. -
