If you are going to not bother training highschool kids to verify money (not asking much I did it when I was a teenager) and just rely on police any time you accept fake money that sounds like a real problem to me. Justified or not I think this sheds light on a bigger issue in society that nobody cares about because we have been accustomed to letting the police handle everything instead of dealing with problems ourselves.

The only kind of wars we have involving land are border disputes in places like Sudan, China and Taiwan or Russia invading crimea and Ukraine. A sovereign nation is never going to invade and conquer another one because the rest of the world will not allow them.
Maybe if one country "went rogue" like North Korea, China or Russia and said FUCK the UN, risked the nukes and took the land even though holding it would cost your entire economy and military force.
I just don't see it happening and if it does happen it's probably not gonna be in our lifetimes and not involving any of the diplomacy or history we're familiar with. There would have to be something else and if a country were to conquer another they would need to destroy all these things which seems impossible the way the world works now.

The problem isn't that he was killed over $20. It wasn't the paltry sum that caused outrage. People were mainly concerned that it was a uniformed police officer causing his death. I don't think anyone would be upset at a store owner for defending their property and business but when the police get involved it's a problem.
