Originally posted by Fox We’ve had the mask debate for years now nobody gives a fuck anymore. But for your information viruses generally don’t just float around in the atmosphere by themselves they usually have some kind of medium they transmit thru, in this case respiratory droplets averaging 10-300 microns in diameter, which IS large enough to be fìltered by a standard N95 mask and to a lesser degree even medical masks and cloth masks.
So again you miss the point, there is a conversation to be had about efficacy of mask mandates for other reasons. Including issues like carbon dioxide buildup and what effect that might have on health, proper/improper use impacting effectiveness, N95 vs standard surgical type vs cloth masks, bacteriological buildup due to overuse and lack of cleaning/disposal, psychosocial development of children. Plus more nebulous concepts like freedom of expression, freedom of movement, etc.
But no you pick the ONE already widely debunked argument to back your stance. Bravo
Smoke particle = 10 µm and is not stopped by mask.
Respiratory droplet >5 μm and do not float in the air to be stopped by a mask.
Respiratory droplet nuclei ≤5 μm float in the air and are smaller than smoke particles, which are not stopped by masks.
N95 stops particles > 5 μm
Do the math kid.
Currently, the term droplet is often taken to refer to droplets >5 μm in diameter that fall rapidly to the ground under gravity, and therefore are transmitted only over a limited distance (e.g. ≤1 m). In contrast, the term droplet nuclei refers to droplets ≤5 μm in diameter that can remain suspended in air for significant periods of time, allowing them to be transmitted over distances >1 m (Stetzenbach, Buttner & Cruz, 2004; Wong & Leung, 2004).

This is all really gay and depressing. It's my good eye too.😭
I haven't yet called back to make an appointment to have my eye ripped out of my face because well, it sounds terrible and I'm scared.
If suddenly my posts stop coming I want you to know it's probably because I'm blind and can't see to type or read.
This really sucks. I'm going to miss NIS so much. I doubt my wife will post for me and read me posts.
Love you all,
