I used to wear penny loafers and deck shoes in the day when people dressed up or dress-casual
now I wear All Stars or Air Force-Nike Hightops.
I bought a cheap pair of casual-dress at payless. now I know why they're called payless. 2 pairs of wool socks and they still cut into one of the back of the heel. I need to find some decent jel-pads for the back heel and ensouls which men shouldn't have to do.

Grew up near Alameda Beach near Oakland. would take my shoes off on hot days and walk to school barefoot. some people would throw them in the locker and just barefoot around campus.
I bet the Nanny State system would never allow that today. I'm surprized they don't fense off the beach so people drunk might not wonder into the water and drown at night. but there are next to zero tides so.
They used to have these old Palm Trees that are gone now.. no coconuts but we would climb them barefoot like they do in hawaii.. some Samoan friend of mine showed me how.
