Oohh hahaha, that's actually The Ring from 2002, which was the very first remake of a Japanese horror movie. The movie they remade was Ringu from 1998. It's probably the most influential horror movie to exist, because it introduced the "ghost with long black hair" type of villain.

Really? That's interesting. Do you remember any scenes from the movie? Because it's basically a scene-for-scene remake, at least when it comes to the scary scenes. I think I will just recommend Ju-on: The Grudge 2 instead, which is from 2003. It's a sequel to Ju-on: The Grudge which was released in 2002. Here is the link:

I didn't know you liked that kind of music, I figured you only liked hip-hop/r&b based on what I saw you posting (then again, k-pop and j-pop also incorporate those genres, but I meant I thought you only liked English music). I've got a few recommendations if you'd like. My Spotify likes are filled with Japanese, Korean and Pakistani songs only. And a few Chinese ones.

I will, tomorrow! It's a promise. I don't think I'll be watching a horror movie tonight, because it's almost 3 a.m. and if I watch a movie right now, I'll probably end up sleeping around 6/7 a.m. again.

They're actually quite distinct. K-pop tends to be more upbeat, whereas J-pop tends to be more melodious. I like both. Sometimes there's crossovers, with k-pop artists releasing Japanese versions of their songs, which I consider to be j-pop, even though technically it's k-pop. Many Korean boy bands and girl groups do this, but I've never seen any Japanese artists releasing Korean versions of their songs. I think it's because Koreans want to appeal to Japanese audiences as well since there's 120 million Japanese people, which means there's a larger market for them to dominate. Seventeen is my favorite k-pop group but I also like BTS, especially their Japanese songs.
