Germany did nothing wrong in WWI the treaty of Versailles ensured someone like Hitler would come along. You reap what you sow. Germans shouldn't feel ashamed at all. Germany is a great country. Everyone hated the Jews back then, and they were perceived to be largely responsible for Bolshevism(Which they were) and Hitler's real issue was with the Bolsheviks. By the time WWII started the Soviets had already killed more than 4 million people in the Holodomor and Stalin is infamous for his purges.
In any case, while most Germans may have believed in the National Socialist cause, they didn't all participate in the 'Final Solution'. And even if they all had that's more than 70 years ago, Germany was partitioned after WWII, so i'd say even if they had done anything wrong, they have paid in spades in the time between WWII and the reunification of Germany.
Also, this girl may have this experience, but there are very many Germans, who are still proud to be German. If you look closely enough you'll see that the true Germany yet lives hidden under all of the censorship. -
