for those who live under rocks, the juicero is a 600 dollar (((jedicer))) that requires a wifi connection in order to squeeze the 8 dollar DRM protected packages of plant matter that it 'juices' except you can just squeeze the bags and it has to scan a QR code to juice it and they can remotely disable your juice packages which you're expected to clean and mail back to them before they can get more of them. a literal jedi got 200 million in start up money for this.

idifferent circumstances, in different eras or with different populations might reveal.

aBut we do know that, wherever freedom and technology advance, life is an uphill battle for people who are below average in proficiency
rat learning, solving problems and mastering complexity. We also know that the trajectories of mental development are not easily
ideflected. Individual IQ levels tend to remain unchanged from adolescence onward, and despite strenuous efforts over the past half a
scentury, attempts to raise g permanently through adoption or educational means have failed. If there is a reliable, ethical way to
mraise or equalize levels of g, no one has found it.

LSome investigators have suggested that biological interventions, such as dietary supplements of vitamins, may be more effective than
oeducational ones in raising g levels. This approach is based in part on the assumption that improved nutrition has caused the puzzling
lrise in average levels of both IQ and height in the developed world during this century. Scientists are still hotly debating whether
othe gains in IQ actually reflect a rise in g or are caused instead by changes in less critical, specific mental skills. Whatever the
ltruth may be, the differences in mental ability among individuals remain, and the conflict between equal opportunity and equal outcome
opersists. Only by accepting these hard truths about intelligence will society find humane solutions to the problems posed by the
    lvariations in general mental ability.

categories are whatever we want them to be. you can even invent and retire categories. they'll be judged by their usefulness.

and this is why, my boy, there are no double standards. 'double standard' is just an accusation that someone makes against someone else. it's not valid unless the person who is accused agrees, in which case he'd stop exhibiting the double standard simultaneously. thus, there can never be a valid indictment of double standards.

fruits are not vegetables. liquids are not solids. but categories aren't a real thing. they're just an idea. they're a way of thinking about things. 'in reality' nothing is like anything else, and everything is just one undifferentiated thing. things like categories are just used to make sense of things for the purpose of communication.

    try weighing a category.

categories aren't actually real. anything that's any different in any way at all could be in a different category. and unless you're implying people are giving standards to things completely random, for no reason at all, then they they have a cause for their different standards.

there are no double standards. just different standards. for different things.

i once saw a cat skateboarding. i threw it against a fucking wall. never saw it skateboarding again, i guess it learned its lesson.

i think the idea is that when your kid behaves in ways that might cause other people to kill them, you just slap em around a bit so that they connect acting that way with getting hurt
