Actually, no. They probably would have let me, considering I didn't have any guidelines as far as what I could watch, but I never watched it as a kid, or since other than a handful of times it happened to be on in the background.
My dad did let us watch Beavis and Butthead though, and even brought my older sister to the movie that came out. I don't think it had any effect though, because it was a cartoon, not real life. -

That could be a decent idea if they find a way to prolong contact with the water, because otherwise it's still pointless.
