    They use the 3D Binaural audio or spacial audio by recording in a mannequin head using its ears with microphones but they have simulated software that can split it into binaural and direct which way they want the audio to sound. like someone coming up on you from the right side and as your turning to the right, they're way off in the bushes ahead of you off to the left and then have the voice move behind the person when they're standing in front. the day they can project this sound to you because of an array of panel speakers on every corner while they're sitting halfway across the country watching you and just fucking with you is probably here now.
